94 integra speedo not working
Just bought it tonight and the speedometer don't work guy said to thump it and it will.
Needless to say the thumb it method won't work for me so just wondering how to fix it. Every other gauge works fine.

Speedometer is controlled by the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). Check connections to that, accessible from under the hood. If everything looks good there, pull the gauge cluster out and check connections there as well.

more than likely the vss (speed sensor) is bad...it's located on the transmission close to the rear t bracket...check the engine harness plug (3 wires)...if it looks good test it for power/ground with the key in the "on" position ...if it's receiving both then raise the front of your vehicle...using a multimeter put the positive probe on the blue/white wire (signal wire) and negative probe on ground...spin a wheel constantly while in gear (car off...key "on" postition) and check for 5 volt pulses (5-0-5-0-5-0) ...if 5 volt pulses show then you have a wiring problem with the signal wire between the vss and gauge cluster...if 5 volt pulses do not show then replace your speed sensor with a new one
Okay now I'm getting frustrated.... I checked everything around the vss and my speedo is still doing it and everything else works.
Now when I thump it the needle moves and gets stuck there till I thump it again...
WTH is going on here?
