windband o2 bung location

Default windband o2 bung location

building my 3" downpipe and am looking around for locations to mount my o2 bung for my wideband. how important is the location? whats the difference as if you put it 1' or 3' from the turbo??? pre or post Wastegate? whatever experiences you guys have had in the past, please share

I have always been told 12" down stream to get a more accurate reading.

try to stay away from it being on a bend

It actually depends on which sensor your using. 8-16" is a good rule of thumb. And like mentioned, on a straight section would be best.

here is the downpipe all tacked up. on the end pointing up will eventually be a flex bellow, and the wastegate will dump into the last bend before the flex bellow...so i'd imagine that a good place would be on the last piece just before the flex bellow, post wastegate, where the bend merges into a straight to put the wideband bung???

Check out the section on the sensor installation guidelines in the AFX manual... it is pretty helpful I thought.
