Icon3 No start no spark 96 Honda Accord

Hi if you can help me not go insane that would be great. I have a no spark issue followed the trouble shooting guide in the Haynes book and deduced it was the ICM. So I order ICM while I am waiting on ICM I go ahead and change spark plugs/wires get distributor cap rotor valve cover gasket even got a brand spanking new battery. Put everything on...... still no spark to #1 plug. Oh coil good coil wire also good. What am I missing here???

Could it possibly be my distributor itself?

It is very rare that the distributor will go bad, mainly the components in the distributor go bad. What is it actually doing do you have no sound, does it act like it wants to turn over and doesn't? Is there a clicking noise?

Cam turning? More than likely igniter would be my guess.

I know it is rare about the distributor I am grasping at straws here .No there isn't any clicking she cranks but won't start. Cam is turning igniter has already been changed. I am about to test the crankshaft pos sensor I will let you know what that says as soon as I get an extra pair of hands.

Have you even check the ground on the intake mani on the driverside? If this ground is loose, it will not spark. Had this issue once on my '94 Accord.

I have checked the ground and it is good. I am wondering if it could have anything to to with the o2 sensor. I few months back some junkie cut my cat off and instead of moving the o2 wires the bastard just cut through them. I haven't gotten an extra pair of hands yet so check the crankshaft pos sensor yet (sucks moving to a new town) so I am just kinda stuck until I do.

An O2 sensor will not cause a no spark issue.

Is there someone you know that has an OBD II scanner/reader; so, you can see if there are trouble codes? The OBD II port (aka data link connector) is located behind your ash tray.

If you can't find someone with an OBD II reader; then, under the passenger side dash, is blue service check connector that you can jump with a wire or paper clip to retrieve trouble codes by counting the Check Engine Light blinks.
Keep in mind, that this method may not be as specific as using an OBD II reader, as OBD II trouble codes have a broader range and can differentiate or narrow certain trouble areas when compared to OBD I trouble codes.
