you mean as in primary O2 sensor or secondary O2 sensor?
you won't need secondary O2 sensor reading w/ P28, so vtec will work just fine. I don't think you can run w/o primary O2 sensor what-so-ever.

It's the primary(I have a 96 JDM motor). This is my situation. A friend on mine is using my SMS header for a track event this weekend and loaned me his JDM 4-1. Well as most of you know, the O2 sensor wire has to be extended pretty far so I just loaned out the O2 also. He didn't have a O2 on his 4-1 so we put it on my car without it. Car start but no VTEC and you can tell it's running really rich. So is it normal for VTEC not to work?
