95 Honda civic 5 speed

Hey people I recently bought a 95 Honda civic 5 speed, I thought it was vtec but as far as I know it isn't. It says 16 valve on the top pan and according to the power it really had me convinced that it was. The 4, 5 & 6th letter in the vin is eg8? Help please!!'

Check the block for stamp should say what motor you have there.

EG8s didn't come with d16z6 with vtec. Maybe it was swapped. Here's an easier way. Look at where the spark plugs are located. First is d16z6 with vtec. 2nd is a d15b7 with no vtec.
