Just picked up a carb legal comptech usa bseries header. its a 1 piece stainless 4-2-1 that steps up. Did plenty of searching and cant find any info on it. good header? Whats it worth?

 

If it's not the race version, performance is minimal at best from the manifold. Small collector restricts it and would really only expect it to make minimal gains on a B16 with bolt-ons.

Worth is subjective. Some would pay $50 for it, or maybe a Comptech ***** would pay $500 for it. If you're looking to get rich off it - you picked the wrong manifold.

 

It is nothing special you can class it with the DC Sports 4-2-1 header.

It's a good header with quality craftsmanship. I wouldn't say that it's rare, but not as common as the DC Sports headers. Definitely worth way more than $50. Here's one that just sold for $426.

It's worth BANK to someone in CA.

We get 2 street legal options. DC sports, and this. And the Comptech heavily outperforms the DC sports. There are replica headers that make more power, but for someone looking for a CARB legal header, this is the one to get.

I would value it at $250-$300

 

^^^ LOL you guys in Cali have it hard. I would never pay that much for a Comptech header. IMO they are a good row boat anchor. But that is what you have to deal with when you in the SMOG CARB **** state of Cali. Here in Az they could care less what is done to the car or what motor is in it as long as it passes SMOG or the OBD2 DLC works and has no codes. You have more that just the 2 header options there is Greddy, Headman and Edelbrock that are 50 state carb legal.
