Default Idle problem with P28 on a Y7block/Y8 head

I have a 2000 civic hatch with stock Y7 block with a Y8 head on. I have both the P2P ecu and the P28. I wanted to convert to obd 1 so that I don't have to wire a secondary o2 sensor or install a knock sensor so I used the p28. But for some reason when I use the p28 ecu, it idles weird. When I first start the car it idles fine around 900 but while Im on the road driving, the car tends to idle at 100 rpm and dies on me occasionally. It runs fine with no idles issues when its running on the P2P ecu but I get check engine lights for the secondary o2 and knock sensor. Could this be a bad p28 ecu since it doesn't do the same idle problem as it does when using the P2P?

What intake manifold are you using? Adjust your throttle cable and idle using the procedures in the faq

I'm using a 96-98 y8 IM but I have the wrong gasket on it(Using the 99-00 gasket). I have the y8 throttle cable on it also. The thing is the idle is fine on P2P ecu but it drops really low on the P28...

Use this procedure if you haven't yet. I hear it's important to follow it very closely.

I can't adjust the idle because it would idle at 900rpm and before I go to adjust it, it would drop to 300rpm.

As for the map, I'm not sure. The guy I bought the p28 ecu from said it was a stock ecu. Could it be the ecu then?

seeing as it is the wrong ecu for the motor, yes.

Kyden if you are saying that just because it's not chipped to a different mapping, then you are wrong. I ran my d15b on a p28 with a 4 wire o2 with no mappings and mine ran fine till I ran into a bunch of other problems.

I've seen a lot of posts where people ran the p28 on y8s and not have a problem...
