What's up ht, picked up a 91 si previous owner had it obd1
Because he had a built b20vtec, I bought the shell & am putting a 96 ek4 SiR b16a
I have acquired the motor was in a crx & set up as obd0 but I don't like all the vacuum lines & obd0 stuff to go along with it. I read the FAQ & got the pinouts but a couple things I couldn't find. The knock sensor on my motor was broken & it's near impossible to find an obd0 knock sensor local. I went to pick a part snatched up obd1 Ecu plugs & Ecu pigtails for map, 02, knock sensor. My car already has an obd0-obd1 jumper harness. Do I need to change the pigtails to fit my obd1 sensors & I believe someone told me obd0 knock is 1 wire & obd1 is 2 is this true how to I wire it? Straight back from the sensor to the Ecu?
Kinda confused this is my first obd0-obd1 conversion the harness that was in the car is kinda hacked up by a "wire tuck" attempt. Although I have Another cleaner harness at my dispense.

Knock sensor is just run straight to the ECU.
As far as OBD0 vs OBD1. The ECU needs a jumper harness and an ECU that matches your OBD. For OBD0, this is the PW0 or PR3. For OBD1 P30, P72 (Maybe?) or a chipped P28 is usually used.
Then you need a distributor. All B series distributors are interchangable as long as you make them fit. Just match the OBD again. OBD0 is TD-22u and/or an integra LS distibutor or something like that while the OBD1 will come from a GSR or 99-00 Civic.
There is also the O2 sensor. The OBD0 uses 2 O2 sensors, each 1 wire. The OBD1 uses 1 O2 sensor that is 4 wires. Which include the signal, heater wire, and possibly a ground. Not too sure there.
That's all that is OBD specific, not including tuning options. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong anyone. Just pulling this from memory.

You will use your motor harness that was in your car already. Don't try wiring up the new harness as it won't work. So just don't do it. It's a lot of effort if you really want to use it...
All the main required sensors share the same plugs. OBD0, OBD1, OBD2a/b... all the same except alternator and distributor. You don't need a purge solenoid on your fuel rail.
To delete vacuum lines, get an OBD1 manifold/throttle body. Everything plugs in and hooks up the same.
It is easier to actually start the swap and figure out what you'll need as you go along, instead of buying a bunch of stuff before-hand and hoping that you bought everything.
So take the harness from the b20 and put it on the B16. Find an ITR or equivalent manifold and bolt it onto the b16. Depending on the ECU, you might not even need the knock sensor... p28 doesn't ask for it.
The bulk of the wiring will be the same. You can always swap things like sensors.
You can remove the extra vacuum and diaphragm from the b16 manifold too, makes it essentially like a newer one. Just tap and plug the 2 larger holes, 1/8" NPT worked for me.

The car was converted OBD1, so leave the jumper harness in there.

1996 ek4 b16a (milled.020) (safe?)
Cometic .018 headgasket
ARP b16 head studs
P73 ITR intake manifold
68mm Inlinepro throttle body
Hondata thermal IM/TB gaskets
PLM rmf style 4-1 2.5 collector header
00 CTR camshafts (I&E)
BuddyClub racing cam gears (+0,+0)
Supertech H1000D2 dual valve springs
Supertech titanium Retainers
OBD1 GSR dizzy oem Honda.
I found a p08 obd1 Ecu with Hondata S200
But unfortunately the guy can't get Ahold of his friend that I guess owns it
So you know how that goes. Thanks for your guys quick input, I haven't even really checked out the jumper harness on the inside of the car it's probably wired up to the o2 sensor pigtail already just the harness is so ugly to look at I just said ill leave the headache until I have the motor ready to rock.

Here she is on the stand all cleaned up.
