Cool things to do to my '01 CRV
Hello all,
I have a 2001 CRV. It is the only car I have ever had! Had it since 2006 when I turned 16. Anyways I'm a total newb with this stuff, but recently I've been thinking I want to do some cool stuff to it. I'm thinking that first I will lower it as much as I can, then paint the rims (until I can buy new ones), and then do vtec. It is going to take awhile since I am a poor college student. I also want to plastidip it maybe? It is red now, but I want something different.
I was wondering if anyone has an tips or tricks for me. Also any suggestions on rims and springs... new color for the body?
Thanks!

Get a set of full coilovers for it, that way you can adjust the height to your likely. You will need to trim the upper control arms if you want to go low with it, as well as trim the inner fenders and the metal strip at the top to keep from rubbing. Wheels you can find pretty much anything, just find something you like.
Most people like the EDM/JDM body panels, most people have them (my self including) have some.
You can also get exhaust systems for it.

"I wanna make my car low, cool looking, and dat vtack yo" You really need to do some research on common modifications and HOW to go about doing said modifications before you even touch your V.
for cheap stuff I really liked my bull bar, I think you can get an oem wing replica on ebay for like 200 painted. im doing the red out taillight thing everyones been doing, that's cheap and easy. my raingaurds were really cheap and I like those. you can black the headlights which I also need to do. all that makes a big difference in looks I think.
I think lowering spring are useless on these. they just don't go low enough to be worth it, need to go for coilovers. I originally was heading that way but decided to lift which was cheaper and I am way more happy with it. I already have a low car and I think I would be going crazy with 2 of them.

That sure as heck looks like a lowered Civic in your Avatar. To each his own. Heck my boss boost's and lifts Geo trackers like no tomorrow for offroading competitions. Is it exactly my style? No, but cool none the less.

I'll post pics tomorrow, but it's just a regular old red 01' CR-V... you could google it lol. Literally has nothing done to it except new motor... just a regular motor nothing special.
Well, it is pretty pink now... what color do you guys think I should repaint it? I've decided for now I'm going to paint my rims black, get purple lug nuts, and purple HIDs.

This is the owner of the EF next to her V. To better explain, she is just getting into hanging out with my car club and wants to be a part of the scene. She's going for pretty much all appearance. She wants the drop, wheels painted, and car painted. In a few weeks I'm doing a full red plastidip with metalizer, which I'll post the results, but that's what we were thinking for her car. Its 2WD/auto so I just want her to make her car her own. She's going for ideas
waaaaitt a second ... so lifting a cr-v means you are d-bag, but ricing it out with random colors, dropping it, and being part of the "scene" doesn't make you one?!
I believe your understanding of d-baggery is a bit off, miss.
Also, modifying a cr-v is not exactly a common thing and comes at a price - number of issues, repairs, trimming, mounts, etc. Before anything, I recommend you to ditch the V and get a civic - something "the scene" can help you rice out with autozone parts.
Good luck.

Oh yeah, sorry for expressing my opinion on the intradat in my own thread guys.
So what issues etc, would modifying my V give me?
Also would it be totally horrible to get springs instead of coil overs?
I'm thinking I might go totally black with it - black plastdip and black rims. And the purple lug nuts and purple HIDs. I'll probably black out my lights, back and front. What lug nuts should I use that won't "fall off"?

Make sure your car is completely clean and dry before you plastidip.. has a tendency to lift and peel if not applied correctly. Remembe... light coats!..as far as springs or coilovers.. theres more of a selection on coilovers.. I think the only springs available for our v is h&r. Correct me if im wrong guys.. but if you want a slammed look.. coilovers would be your choice..do a search on here, plenty of people use coilovers from an accord that fit with modifying
