hello all
I have a 94 civic ex that I bought in abq I then moved to Oklahoma. before this never had a problem with the car starting and then once summer hit the car acted like it was out of gas, filter was changed, terminals replaced, spark plugs replaced, fuses and relays checked, still doesn't wanna go during the day. starts fine at night when the temp is down but not always. DOESNT HAVE THIS PROBLEM IN NM. ive been down there twice since the problem started and it doesn't show any sign of this problem. I just wanna know if its really the pump before I replace. any suggestions?

 

Do some basic diagnostic tests. Fuel pump prime? spark at plugs? CEL codes?

 

i've got it narrowed down to a short somewhere. the fuel pump did prime the spark plugs all checked out and then one day it stopped doing it period. now it just clicks on occasion when i turn the key but always starts now.

 

No crank or no start?

 

id consider Moving back to nm, car is obviously homesick.

 

ha ha ha that made my day. im def getting out of here if not back to nm then to co this place blows. but its no crank on the civic then starts right up, now my wifes car a f23a 99 accord lx is having the same problem as the civic started off with, the fuel pump doesnt seem to wanna prime but eventually does

 

Main relay probably.

 

and are those the ones in the engine bay or under the dash and can you visually inspect them the same as a fuse cuz nothing seems blown

yes other then its moved to click no crank then start. the accord one week ago started with no fuel pump priming just like the civic did previous summer. is this weird or am i just crazy
