Default 99 Accord power steering problem

I have an issue with my 99 accord power steering. I replaced the seal on the power steering pump and drained the old fluid and filled it with new fluid and now the steering is totally stiff. I jacked up there car and read that you needed to move your steering from left to right to get out any air in the lines. I've done that and tried to drive the car and nothing, I need to use extreme force just to turn the wheel, any idea how to fix this problem?

Dang, now I see you have another thread with the same question.

What type of PS fluid did you use....I hope it was Honda PS Fluid.

I used Honda fluid and this is the first time i have ever had this problem. Once the car is off the ground the steering moves like butter, once its on the ground its totally stiff you need both hands to turn the wheel and with crazy force.

Sounds like something is obviously very much not hooked up properly. If the fluid can't flow between chambers easily it will be almost impossible to turn. Are you sure you tightened your belt properly? You also need to turn your wheel all the way left and all the way right multiple times to recirculate the new fluid.

Hi still working on the power steering issue. I flushed the power steering fluid out and added new fluid. The steering wheel is is still giving me issues when I steer left or right. If I accelerate and go straight moves fine but when I slow down to stop or make a turn in any direction the it goes all stiff again. I have bled the air out and moved the wheel left and right close to 100 times and still nothing. Any ideas on how-to fix this???

If the steering was working before you replaced the seal then it's quite obvious you did something wrong. Why did you replace the seal in the first place ? I would pick up a complete seal rebuild kit and just rebuild the entire thing.

The steering was fine but was leaking, so when i opened the power steering pump the O ring was broken. So i got a power steering O ring kit and replaced all the rings. So no leaks now but just stiff wheel ?

Yes I confirmed it, now im so lost on why its not working properly. I saw a video on youtube where the guy said to use Seaform trans tune to clean out any build up in the power steering. That may be my other option.

Im basically gonna buy a rebuilt pump and put that in to see if it works. Do you know where I can find a diagram in detail piece by piece on the power steering pump for a 99 accord? Ive looked on line and cannot find anything close enough.
