Default Door latch inverted on 2000 CRV

I was feeling pretty cocky about successfully replacing the actuator motor on my driver's side door when I started putting everything back together and found I couldn't close the door. After looking at the catches on the other three doors, it appears the plastic catch on the driver's door has spun 180 degrees counter-clockwise?????? No idea how this could have happened. I've been trying to cautiously force it back clockwise to the proper position, assuming it will lock into place once there, but it seems to be hitting resistance.

Any ideas?
