Auto or 5 speed?
Is the battery charged? Try jump starting?

It's a five speed. I had the jumper cables on it everything comes on I was thinking maybe a clutch safety neutral switch.

Could be the interlock on the clutch bracket but if you are hearing the relay click it isn't likely. The interlock switch provides the ground for the relay.

Could be the starter cut relay is bad. If not then maybe the starter solenoid.

You can try jumpering the 2 large terminals on the solenoid. Also if you have a meter or test light check for 12v on the blk/wht (small wire) at the solenoid with the key in start.

make sure all the grounds are cleaned and tight.
make sure the terminal on the started is connected.
make sure the power wire is on tight and clean.
battery terminals are clean and tight.
clutch saftey switch at the top of the clutch has a lil rubber pin to push in on the switch the when you push in the clutch to start it. the rubber gets old and falls out.

hopefully you find out. and maybe some of these will help.. i know how mad it can make ya!

Ok so I was checking all the fuses. Two things.... 1. I found the main relay and pulled it apart to check the solder joints, they look good. 2. Under the driver side the fuse box had two places for a starter fuses, one had a dummy fuse in it and the other fuse was real and good. So now is there a way to check this main relay with an ohm meter?

Default 1993 del sol won't turn over

Can you check the main relay with a ohm meter with it out of the car?

Yes. You can check any relay. 1st, connect the coils contacts to the 12 volt supply (in this case), if you hear a click, then that means the relays working. Once you have the relay connected and you heard the click, you can use your ohm metter to check for continuity. The ohm meter should read nearly 0 ohms. You might want to look up how relays work. Its preety much an on and off switch. There should be an image ontop of the relay showing how it works and what contacts are to what.

Default 1993 Del Sol - clicks but won't crank

Alright I still haven't figured out why the dang thing won't turn over. Just clicking noises. I did check the starter its good. I know its something small. I did notice that the power windows wouldn't do anything. Now the damn ignition is locked. I bought the car from a relative for 700. I know it runs. Help........

Why did you start a new thread for the same issue? One thread per topic.

Thanks for the posts but it not the battery, starter, or the fuel pump. The clicking noise I here is in the fuse box beside the batter, however, all the fuses are good. Its got to be something small. I even by passes the clutch safety neutral switch. Soo, back to scratching my head. I don't want to take it to a mechanic and him start replacing things that aren't bad and run up a large bill.

Not sure why you're focusing on the main realy, it does nothing to make the starter turn.

IF you have a voltage meter time to get it out and figure out where the problem is.

Here is the starter circuit:

My car also clicks. Sometimes I have to turn the ign on and off and then it will start.
Other times it starts right up.
No means to thread jack. I heard it might be a relay.
Haven't realy fixed the problem because it ends up turnin on after a few times.

Test your ignition switch, and also check the rubber stopper at the top of the clutch pedal.

Ill test my ignition swit h. It is about 1.5 years new, last replaced when I had I rev the at hike cranking for it to start.
The clutch switch is bypassed. Should I still Check the rubber stopper on it?

Check the bypass with a multimeter.
