Civic rotates but won't start! Please help
While driving my 92 civic dx yesterday it just gradually slowed and died. The fuel pump hums so I'm thinking the fuel system is okay. The car has been maintained well. I'm stuck right now and this is my girl and I's only car. Please any help!
First make sure the tank isnt empty! Verify you are pumping fuel. An easy way is to loosen the top banjo bolt at fuel filter. After that check for spark. I check it by pulling a wire and a plug, install the plug into wire like it normally sits, and ground the threads of spark plug and have a buddy crank the engine for you (or lay it somewhere you can see it while cranking yourself.
3 basics to engine running. Fuel..air...spark. BTW...did any codes pop up?

No lights on dash, I will check for spark like you say and if I can without breaking the line pull off banjo to see about fuel. I know I have gas in the tank. Thank you very much for responding.
Could your timing belt have snapped? Engine will turn over but it won't ever start. You can check by pulling off the oil filler cap, shining a flashlight in the hole, and looking inside to see if the valves move up and down while the engine turns over.
Thanks for everyone's input and concern, this Christmas I'm asking Santa for some new specialty tools and a big bag of patience. It turned out to be the distributor, now I need new plugs and wires and back on the road we go.
