Default Quick question - aftermarket CAI filter size

I am gathering parts to do a ton of maintenance and repairs on my 1998 Civic LX. One of the things I am doing is a D16ZC swap, which moves the TB location, so I ordered a cheap eBay cold air intake. I don't really trust the filer that it will come with, but what should I replace it with? I would just get a K&N, but I don't know the dimensions I can fit. Can anyone steer me in the right direction so I can get a replacement before I install everything.

Thanks in advance,
Sean

It wont work on the new motor. Think of going from LX to EX, on the LX the throttle body is on the top facing up with the filter right above it. On the EX the throttle body is on the side with a tube to an air box with a filter in that. The eBay intake was $40 so cheap and easy.

Measure the OD on the CAI/SRI piping with a tape measure or ruler, and that'll tell you what size K&N cone filter you need to buy. It's that simple.

Yes, I know. First off I already know the OD of the tubing (2.75") but I don't know how big around the filter can be, or how long. I would like to order the new filter now so I can have it when I go to install the intake. Or I will have to wait until I install it and then take measurements, then order a filter and install it. Its not that big of a deal, but I like to do things once and be done with it.

buy a 4" cone filter that fits a 2.75" opening. I would suggest getting an oem airbox and pipe from a 92-95 Civic Si. You don't need the under bumper stuff, just the box with the opening at the bottom will do
