So I just bought a 99 civic LX 4 door from the original owner. And she claimed it did not come with a key fab to unlock doors, it has power locks/windows. Just wondering was it an option? Is there an easy way to add a OEM key fab to the system?

BTW: the keys look old school like the keys from 92-95 civics. Looks like the key is NOT chipped?

 

Yes, buy a fob for your Civic.

 

Is this the same for the 2000, Ive tried searching and only found the program procedure with the ignition.

 

Not sure about Civics for the Canada market. Do you have stock power locks?

 

Can only the dealer do it? or if I buy OEM fab can any old shop do it? No clue how it works.

 

You can do it by yourself. You can buy it online, even eBay. Buy one for a 99-00 Civic.

 

Power everything except seats from factory.

 

Check whether there's a power lock control unit behind the driver's kick panel. I think it's white.
