Where to buy quality engine for 1992 Accord EX Auto
I bought a 1992 Accord and set to fixing everything in it as it's very clean and I just needed a car for getting here and there. But after a test at mechanic a small amount of water is leaking inside the engine so.....needs to be replaced.
It definitely needs to be replaced, but where to buy a good rebuild?
Should I
A) Buy an old Honda and move the engine after driving to make sure it's good?
B) Do we know of anywhere you can get a good engine?
What's the strategy here? Seems like people are very untrusting of any rebuilt engines now.
p.s. I live in Los Angeles so finding and picking it up shouldn't be a problem.

Depending on where and how bad the leak is, it may just be in need of a head rebuild/head gasket replacement.
Locally for me there is Japan Engine in San Leandro. Long blocks are ~$750 for low mileage engines. Rebuilt heads are ~$450. Free shipping.

If you are looking just for a f22a6 motor look around junk yards. You being in la you shouldn't have a problem, finding a nice one. If you want to swap it look around on eBay I picked up a nice h22a with a little over 55xxx miles on it about two or three years ago and never had a problem with it.

Japanese Domestic Engines are lower time typically. Someone like Laskey Racing could do a rebuild for you. Tons of options.
Good rebuilds include new piston rings, and checking cylinder bore gap. New gaskets, top end cheque. Valve Seals.
Talk to an engine builder like Laskey Racing.
Depends what you want, quality rebuild, an engine that will get you by.

laskey said the dmg would be around 5k and you'd get racing quality. He felt it was a waste to spend that much on a grocery getter. Felt the junkyard and 90 day warranty was best choice.
