Help mounting clutch cable through firewall for auto to manual 88-91 hatch!
In the process of doing my auto to manual b18a on my 89 civic hatch dx , I am trying to figure out the best/proper way to locate the clutch cable where it goes through the firewall. I saw a thread on here where somebody cut a mt firewall so they had the proper clutch cable tunnel. So my question is how did YOU do it, any problems or issues? Ive heard of people having problems when done the wrong way. I see the integra cable has two little O-rings and a recess around it where it goes through the wall, is this for a retainer clip? Please help and give your personal experience. Thanks

Heres what I saw somebody else do , I see small differences in the integra cable and the civic cable. I just want to know what really holds it in, is there a retaining clip or does the tunnel just kinda locate it and hold it in place and the tension keeps it from moving?

All you need to do is drill the hole in the correct spot. The tension will keep it in place. I did this about 2 months ago on an auto 88 dx hatch that didn't have the hole.

yes
thats the hole
when i did my 5 speed swap
i had a rubber plug to remove
my car is a 1990 sedan
i know that some cars you just have to drill threw
because what you see in the picture is two panels up against each other
the panel up front had the hole cut out for a clutch cable
but the inside one did not
this was a mistake at the factory but a mistake that didnt need fixing because the automatic cars were never
ment to be 5 speed swapped

So I was on here looking for a solution. Will a 1990-1993 Acura Integra clutch cable fit and function like it should on a 1990 Honda Civic Hatch with a gsr swap
