Default more antenna questions

Well I finally got the old antenna assembly out of the del Sol and it is deffinatly no what the P.O. bought to replace it with.

As you can see they are not the same. So my question is this. Is there a way to just remove the new antenna from the pipe and put it into the old antenna pipe? It would be a lot cheaper then buying a new correct replacement at $100+ bucks

Default Re: more antenna questions

Mitch - what's the replacement power antenna on the right that you ordered, please (mfgr and model)?

Not possible to swap antennae from pipe to pipe, as the OEM stock unit on the left is comprised of several telescoping sections, while the power unit on the right is most likely a cable driven apparatus (and I'm not sure how you'd make the required connections?)..

I'm researching the possibility of adding an S2000 amplified antenna to my '94 Del Sol Si (pristine example, I can assure you!) - complete with the requisite antenna feeder (carries both power and antenna lead in a single harness)...

I've seen allusions here to a member that once sold a DIY kit to accomplish such a conversion, but I've been unable to find that thread...
