Seeking advice add a little power to my 2013 Civic?
I just recently bought a 2013 Civic EX. Stock engine. 140hp. Beautiful car, insanely fun to drive. I'm seeking some basic advice from this community to just add a little more power to my car, maybe try to add some horses without swapping or reflashing.
I have done some general research (links below), but I'm still not 100% certain what I should do. I'm not looking to race, or do a major engine swap, but I am looking to add some muscle.
Nothing major, and nothing too pricey.
Side question: is there anything that will void my coverage from insurance if I buy it and put it into my car/engine?
Cheers!

does your insurance inspect your car?
maybe a k&n intake with aluminum piping and an icebox set up.
heres a link to a set up on an acura, obviously youll have to make it differently from how he does it.

and an exhaust system.
or you can make it lighter, lighter wheels, carbon fiber parts.
those are the some of the small mods you can do with out going turbo or messing with the ecu.
but those mods will void your car warranty from the dealer if you have any.

Also what do you recommend for exhaust systems? My buddy told me Skunk 2 was a good name. Anything else I should look into? I'm looking for a nice low beefy tune, none of those hi pitched exhausts.
I assume insurance will only inspect the car if its in an accident or been broken into. So no, they do not inspect it if there is no reason to. However, if i do put in an intake and exhaust and maybe a carbon hood, will it void my coverage?

I would go with either full race of nvidia exhaust and trust me you will be happy. The Full Race will give a little more poneys over the Nvidia but both systems will waken the car up a little.
As for the intake I would of recommended the SKunk2 CAI but you don't have the Si so I would look at either Injen or AEM.
Can I ask where are you located in Canada?
Cause I could help you out with getting the parts for a good deal and from a very reputable shop. As a Mod I can vouch for them any day!
