Hi everyone I'm new to the forums and pretty new to honda's. Anyways I have a 1994 Honda Accord EX and recently had my CEL come on. I checked the code and it is showing the VTEC Solenoid Valve as the culprit. I had recently changed out a broken coolant temperature sensor and my fuel filter. Seeing as how I don't have any knowledge of the mechanics of cars I figured I should ask here. Would any of the things I just replaced cause this CEL code? Also I seem to be having some oil leaking into my Distributor which was the next on my list to fix. Could this cause this code by any chance? Thanks for any help you might be able to give!

 

You may have knocked the VTEC spool solenoid connector off, as there are a few sensors and wire harness located in that area. Check for damaged wiring. If these are fine, check the VTEC solenoid for continuity. https://honda-tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1812135]

 

I once forget to plug in one of the two connectors from the distributor, and the light came on. Plugged it back in and it went away. Since you were working around that area, check the plugs first.
