Default 91 civic dx commuter build

Dont know if this is the right place, but thought I would throw my build up, love comments and suggestions. Not to familiar with anything honda. Checked thread on Vins and saw that it is a canadian dx model.

Bought from my buddy who put in new gas tank, new cat, new exhaust, new carpet. Had no air filter so got the complete stock one. The guy he got it from (another of our buddies) added new engine components and clutch but nothing was right so he took it apart and redid it. Said it had a 1600 motor vs the 1500, but I dont know how to check into that yet. Was his driver until he bought 3 more and it sat for a month till i bought it.

So I put some red LEDs in the dash and climate cluster. Taking out the pos head unit and installing a new kenwood, new jl speakers and kicker subs.

Researching right now on suspension - coil overs, springs, control arms, strut bars. Want to see what all are for and whats better for what I want.

Previous Ground (wondered why the stereo kept flicking off)

New Cluster Lights (forgot to order speedo lights)

Power

My Road Dawg

Got head unit wired, front speakers installed - still need to make holes for tweeters, ran power for amp.

Car is still missing items like foot well lights, rear truck lights and a lot of the little panels, drivers under dash panel, screws and bolts. I figure ill make a junk yard run. Found some stuff on ebay, kinda checked craigslist. Should be a fun little project to add to my others (tahoe needs engine work before bags). Hope to learn alot from my travels here because ive been reading most of the threads.

lol now i must say, that is a 100% professional ground, i could only wonder why it would flicker! hahahaha
check the block(left front) and it will say D15b or D16a(i do believe) and you will know
if its a D15b you should have a D15b8.

one thing i absolutely miss about CA is the fact that it could be like midnight and you could be using flood lights so you can work on a car and all the cops will do is ask what you're doing and thats about it! where i am now they give you a ticket for public disturbance :/

So I checked the motor and it has ZC stamped on it, so Im now researching to find info on that. All kinds of numbers stamped or stickered on it are:
9H19
PM9-2
L3-2311237 (gold sticker w/ black lettering)
A22140297
6242084

In the meantime, made a speaker plates out of .100" carbon fiber

Rebuilt A/C compressor

LEDs in the tails

dang that's a CLEAN starting point. zc is pretty much the same as d16a6 with a slightly better cam. so it's a 1.6l not the factory 1.5. factory our cars didn't come with footwell lights, i added a pair of blue LED bars under my dash and wired them up to my parking lights, looks cool, some would call it rice, idgaf haha

Cool man, thanks for the info! Going to do some junkyard runs it missing most of the trim for the rear. I was already looking at wireing some LEDs to the foot wells, I like having light. All user preference.

Got this in right before work

Tweets will go above the groove, door handle rubs if I Dont pull a little, and I'm gonna put stock covers on speakers until I decide if I want to glass it or vinyl wrap it and flush those out. Subs are going in a ported box in back(should fit under rear strut bar which is on order from skunk2), going to make a false floor since the full size spare is not flat with surrounding area and attach amp and cap to that. Also building a shelf attached to the little side shelfs for the rear components since it doesn't have the speaker pods. And of course dynamating everything. I'm liking that Kenwood. I like how I can change the color and its functions. Dash, climate, dome, 3rd brake LEDs from superbrightleds.com and tails, and rear turns from autoillination. First time from autoillumination and I still like superbright better.

Still need to get my sub box for the kickers - I have a cheapie set of 12" subs for now. Built a little false floor since my full size spare sits above the hole. Attempted the big 3 but ran everything nice, I think its the aluminum lugs I used. Will be cutting and recrimping this weekend. Put little steering wheel in, feels good, but tossed the cheap quick release hub to the kids. Have to wire the horn still. Went to the local pick n pull found all kinds of rear hatch molding which was missing. I forgot to grab the piece that goes under the dash of the steering wheel and the little pull out try on the drivers side under the air vent so Ill go this weekend for that. Havent had a chance to put my new ac compressor and drier in or flush the lines. Maybe this weekend. All in all its a fun little car to drive and getting me some great gas mileage.
