Default 1994 Honda Accord Stutter

I have a 94 Honda accord ex vtec DOHC. Car sputters only when I barely give it gas. Also stutters when i am trying to maintain speed. I really don't know where to start with it. A few months ago i replaced the plugs and wires. It does have an exhaust leak. I'm not sure if thats the problem but any help will be welcomed.

Not a whole lot to go one here.....so with that and I'll assume no stored codes in the ECU/TCU.

Read about clogged EGR ports and what they cause - then go to the FAQ and read the "how to" clean

Your problem is the exhaust leak and after fixing the leak you will need to replace your oxygen sensor that is now bad as a result of the leak. Also, you don't have a DOHC motor.

My 94 does the same thing as the OP's. Not plugs, EGR, vacuum lines, Oxygen sensor. I figure it may have something to do with the rear motor mount. That's on the list to replace.

If the egr ports are plugged it will not set a code. On 94/95s the only EGR code that will be set is for the lift solenoid. There is no flow monitoring.
If the car has ~100Kmiles the ports are most likely in need of cleaning. If you have emissions testing this will reduce NOx emissions. I would not use any cleaner on the ports it will just make a mess. Use a vacuum and various sizes of flat head screwdrivers to scrape the carbon/soot buildup from the EGR ports.

I'm going to try to clean the Egr valves today and see if that helps, My Accord does have 245,000 miles on it so if it has never been cleaned that very well could be it. I will keep you guys updated.

Well Dirty EGR passages were the problem, I also cleaned the throttle body as well. Now she's purring like a kitten and has much more power than before. BTW 3 out of 4 Holes were plugged up with carbon, thanks guys!

hunh? how would an exhaust leak cause the engine to run poorly? and why would it break the oxygen sensor? this is senseless.

Because it does. If you search my posts you will see why. I don't really feel like wasting my time.

And if the OP still has an exhaust leak before the oxygen sensor it won't be long before he starts having driving problems as a result.

Thanks but you are right as well. The exhaust leak, pre-cat will cause issues and should be addressed.
