94 accord ex wont start
went out the other day after hearing a nise in my blower fan.took it off and cleaned it out. (BIG mouse house) car ran fine. went out today and all it wants to do is turn over but not start. Car has 340,000 miles on it and i don't have the money for a mechanic. My question is can i disconnect the fuel line at the fuel rail and see if it is getting gas there? when i turn the car on i can't hear the pump pumping but i never could hear it even before. Its just that this seems to be the easiest point to get to to see whats up.
Just turn the ignition to on then turn it off. Then open up the bolt on the fuel rail and see if it sprays. It if doesn't then you know fuel pump isn't working. Very easy to do. If you think it sprayed but aren't sure. Just put the bolt back on tight, prime the fuel pump again, then take it back off and see if it sprays. You can also just put that hose in a jar of some sort and have someone quickly on off the ignition, but that can be messy and you'll just be wasting fuel.
