Hesitates or bogs down when low on fuel?
I might be imagining this but I think I am seeing a pattern. I think that when I am low on fuel I see a lack of power at low RPMs. It wants to stall. I have replaced the fuel filter and I have repaired the main relay. After filling up the tank the problem goes away after a mile or so. When I say low on fuel I don't mean empty I mean two gallons left in the tank.
Am I imagining this? Is there something that could cause this to happen?

You aren't supposed to be into the reserve in the tank,it keeps the pump cooled, try buyiing gas,and is this blake?
Reserve? This is a new concept for me. What is considered reserve? I can see how that might work and for that reason I need to fill up sooner than I have been filling up but what about my question; could low fuel (2 gallons) somehow cause the engine to run poorly?
Sorry, I am not Blake.

Uh huh, ok, you should have a low fuel warning light that comes on at a couple of gallons,in tank ppumps need to be submersed in fuel or they will overheat
I don't think my car has such a warning light but it is possible that it simply does not work because I have never seen it come on.
I acknowledge the information that you have provided is useful and I will fill up sooner in the future. But, am I missing the connection or something because I still don't feel like this information directly addresses my question; Could low fuel (2 gallons) somehow cause the engine to run poorly?

I have this exact thing going on. I just purchased an '88 with 30K miles on it. Everything is functional on the car. It is in perfect shape. This is the only issue I've noticed on it. It starts up without issue (better than my 2015 Jeep). Runs like a champ until the fuel gets below ~1/3 of a tank left. Then it seems to lose power when coming to a stop. So much so that it has actually stalled. As as soon as I re-fill the tank, the problem is gone. Does anyone have a solution to this issue?

My 88 crxsi cut's out on right hand turns when the gas needle is at the empty line. I fill it up with 7.5 - 8 gallons and everything is fine.
It has been doing this for 13 years. It is kinda it's way to tell me to get some gas.
