Starter only works when not bolted into tranny..
WTF. This is driving me crazy. 93 dx hatch, B series with a twin disc, no neutral switch.
So my starter went out the other night, bump started it and drove it home. Put a new starter on and got nothing, like not even a click. Figured it was junk right out the box so went and got it bench tested but worked fine. Brought it back home and hooked up the power and remote to it but didn't bolt it into the tranny and it spins up normal, bolt it in an it does nothing. Tried moving it a bit inside there a couple times but it does nothing. WTF. Any insight? Short somewhere? Why would it be any different bolted up or not unless its like grounding it out or something? All grounds look good...

Cleaned up and re-bolted down both ends of the tranny ground, fired right up.
And to the last guy, auto with a twin disc? That'd be sweet. Lol

Sorry braj... I am not familiar with the term twin disc as being related to a manual transmission. Thanks for educating me on that. Glad you got it sorted out.
