Default Sticker on side of engine

Just curious what it's for. The long block, the head or the just the timing belt cover?

that's just a label for the upper timing cover.

I think it's a tracking code for the engine itself on the assembly line. You cannot buy replacements of these labels.

Scan the barcode and see if there's anything interesting.

That sounds more Legit... The upper timing cover's part number is a p72 as with most ITR parts.

I tried scanning it with a real barcode scanner and it wouldn't read it.
I used an app on my phone and it said "3809 This is an ITF barcode". Quick google search says ITF= Interleaved Two of Five code.
I agree that it's probably for the engine as a whole assembly.
I'm glad I tried to scan it because as soon as I put my hands on it to try and flatten it out some, it fell off. I put it in a ziploc bag and it's been put in the box of stuff that will stay with the car.

I was looking at some pics I took of the '98 back in '01 and lo and behold! This one ends with 3096 instead of 3089. So, yeah it's looking like it was for the engine as a whole.
