hello i am looking into buying a 96 integra gsr my friend is selling the only thing he sed was wrong was it will start, drive it 30 miles or so then dies after that it dont want to start. you have to wait a while for it to start back up again. pls help thanks

 

look up main relay repair.

Ignitor has a similar failure. It gets hot and craps out. When it cools down, it start working again.

OP does your tach jump/spaz out sometimes ?

 

have no drove the car yet. also what is ignitor? I hope its an easy fix I really want this car. I thought it might be the coil or fuel pump but I have not done any test yet myself

 

I was also thinking a possible computer problem but once again im not sure

 

it's in the distributer super easy to replace same with the fuel pump or coil.

 

ok sound like an easy job. just found out its a 95 obd1. will the distributer from a 94 civic work i used it on a b20 its obd1

 

That's the ignition coil, not the igniter aka ICM in the service manual.

 

ok i found out what happened i swapped the ignition module in the distributor with one that came out of a 94 civic and it has not died on me after that. thanks for the help
