Vacuum lines off throttle body/intake manifold

Vacuum lines off throttle body/intake manifold
There are two that I can't seem to find out what they're for.
What are these supposed to be connected to?? I tried Haynes but it's not specific enough.

the 8 hose goes to your air filter box right by the battery, the other one goes right to a nipple sticking up in your air intake hose, but it looks like you have an aftermarket air intake on your car, so both of those lines would go on the parts you took off. just plug them off.

I have the same thing, just plugged them off. Actually, not exaclty... I drilled a little hole in the rubber connector there and pushed in the hose in pic 2. Not sure what it does, but I put it in... that was around SMOG time... By the way, you should get rid of that auto tranny
