Just got my 91 Da9 integra and the interior lights won't turn on when the door and/or hatch is open. How do I fix this? is it a relay or fuse?

For the dome light, [doors] it is most likely the door pin switches, they get rusty, you can try and clean them or just replace with new ones.

For the hatch light, check the bulb as that switch is in the latch and hardlt ever fails.

I assume you checked the fuse, if not, check fuse 14 - 15A, [hot at all times] in under dash fise box.

Question, does the door open indicator or hatch open indicator in the gauge cluster light up if a door or hatch is open, if not also check fuse 23 - 7.5A, [hot when ign. switch is on] in under dash fuse box. 94

 

I have got the doors to work just the hatch is not lighting up. Where is the switch located on the hatch?(the front switches were corroded).

 

The hatch switch is in the hatch latch.94

 

All right thanks you have been very helpful. I will get a new bulb for it and see if that helps too. The drivers side pigtail connector for the front door needs to be replaced/ cleaned? It is having a tough time making connection any trouble shoot you have used?

 

You can clean them sometimes, however I always just replace them with new ones.

If the hatch light and the hatch open warning lights do not turn on the problem must be the switch or wiring, access the hatch switch wiring plug, [single lead, green/black] and make sure it is plugged in, if so, unplug it and ground the lead. if light and/or warning light turns on, [ign. must be on for warning light] the switch is bad, replace the latch. 94

 

Thanks I took the latch apart and heavily clean the switch and replaced the bulb. It now works great! I disassembled the front door ajar switches and cleaned them as well and they work as well. Thanks again for the info and support

Door ajar light in the dash does not light up when the doors to my DB Integra are open. Dome lights do not work either for the doors. Are these issues connected?

 

Yes, both are controlled by the door pin switches. 94
