Default Build Thread

I used to have a 90 ex Sedan, until I got T-boned and it was totaled. I happened up on a clean, almost completely stock, civic and will be going to get it Sunday.

I plan on repairing the dings on the front and rear bumper. I'll either buy some new seats or reupholster these. I'm not sure all I'll do to it, nothing extreme.

Just thought I'd share my sexy find.

Reason I'm making this is so I can get some possible questions answered. I've always loved these cars, but I've never worked on one before.

Thanks, man.

I won't have it until Sunday. :<

Other than wheel size/offset questions, I can't think of many without having my hands on it.

I'm getting gc and koni. Idk about top hats. I don't know how low I want to do yet.

I really like drag dr-46 wheels. The cost isn't bad either. I could get some of those while I save for nicer weeks.

I don't know what size tire to put in it either, an looking at a 15-7 +10 wheel. Idk what offset to get yet, since I can't I measure the car myself.

Thank you for your interest.

You are right. The seller is absolutely a pleasure to work with. I'd suggest him to anyone. Ebay id- wagonwielding.

15x7 is the best wheel size, but that offset has to go unless you really want to start putting in work. Stock offset is +45 but anything from +35 through +45 will work, anything under +35 you will start have to roll fenders and possible camber kit.

I really like this first picture, but I imagine the ride would be exceptionally better in the second one. I'd like somewhere in the middle, leaning toward the first ones stance.

If it were a slider bar, it'd be like this. (First pic)=>--O-------<=(Second pic)

I wouldn't mind having the set up, just raised a little bit. idk. Too knew to this, and too many options, hah.

I couldn't figure out where to post this, so I'll just add it on here. I was wondering if anyone could Pshop some Drag DR-46 wheels onto this civic?

I can't find any pictures of a white hb with those wheels, nor a hb at all with them for that matter.

Wheel is pictured above on the purple wagovan.

Please and thank you.

Dumping the Drag wheels.

Should I save 2 grand to get real Work Equip 03's? It would take like 6 months to save. Or buy some knock-offs with tires for like 550? I won't be racing or autocrossing, etc. That's just a large price difference.

Obviously, I would love to buy the real ones, but that's a lot of money to spend while half-way through college. Are fake wheels all that bad? I know they are fake, which is why they are hated on.

I won't be pretending that they are real Work's, as some people do.

I wouldn't mind getting a used set of BBS either... I'm just new to rims/ offsets. I drive a truck..

Axis OG Sans look nice. Knock-offs though. They're made to look 3 piece, yet aren't.

I was going to get the Axis OG's for awhile, they are pretty decent, and seem to be made well, but they are heavy... When I was holding one it seemed to weight 20 pounds, and that was to heavy for me. But it you don't like "fake" wheels then just get some Enkei RPF1's or something so you don't break the bank or if you want to be cheap which there is nothing wrong with(we drive 90's Honda's...) Just get some Drag,Rota, STR, Axis, etc Like you said you aren't going to race the car so no need to worry about bending a rim of anything of that matter.

Just got off work and civic was sitting at my apartment. It's so much more beautiful in person. Such nostalgia. I only was able to drive around my complex, but when I get tags and insurance tomorrow, damn it'll be a good day.

Eflovin' - I think I'm going to try to find some axis wheels. Like you said, 90 civic, not racing I don't want to spend an arm and a leg, nor the price of the car on wheels. I'm trying to find some pewter color Axis OGs. Idk what color they are exactly, but ive seen them on some cars. They don't have them on their website anymore. All they have is black and gold.

Rob, I've seen your work before. Years ago when I had my other civic. You do great work.

I finally have a day off tomorrow, so I'm going to clean and condition the car. As for not having enough time to put into it at this moment, I'm going to Plastidip the trim piece back to black. This will only be temporary until I have time to replace, recondition them properly. I'll upload an engine bay shot tomorrow. It almost makes me sad that the engine is already so clean.. I don't have that much work to do.

All my seats are near mint except for the DR bolster. I was wondering if I can just swap a PS seat back/top piece and them fit perfectly? They look identical (the L and R sides). And I mean just from the hinge up. I looked on Internet, yet couldn't find an answer. I may have been last when searching..

For wheels, I've decided on the "charcoal-ish" colored Axis Og Sans. I'll be ordering my GC and Konis soon.

I'm looking for some OEM parts if anyone has them:
PS or DS unripped seat
Clean set of tail lights
Center console
Rear piece things that hold up the cargo cover (I'm going to make speaker pods, but don't want to cut mine up)
Floor mats, not mint but not trash
There are some other things, but I can't remember at 3 am. Just got off work.

Thanks everyone for your interest. I know "do your own car it yours,", and so on.. But I don't want to make any wrong decisions and have them making my car look bad. So please, voice opinions. In the end, I'll be doing my own thing anyway. I just want to know what everyone else likes as well.
