Default C917 not working?

So I tested my voltmeter yesterday on the battery, it works. So I went to wire it up today, and using advice from RonJ to connect the positive with a spade bit to the C917 connector on the under dash fuse box, I did that, with a direct line to the battery for the other line. I turned the car to the ON position, and even started the car, but nothing happened. I checked all connections, and they are fine, and I even took the wire out of the spade bit and touched it directly to the 917 connector and nothing. What's going on?

Can ANYBODY help me? Also, I unplugged the positive end of the voltmeter, the one that goes to the C917, and left the car in the parking lot at my job. Came out 4 hours later to find my battery COMPLETELY dead, and took 20 minutes to jump start it. I have no idea why, since the positive end was disconnected. Maybe there is a short? I don't know... please, somebody help me. And yes, I did buy a test light, so I can use that too...

Can't really tell how what you connected the multimeter probes to? Post pictures.

If you have the positive wire to C917 the "other line" you ran to the battery should be to the negative post. Running all the way to the battery for ground isn't needed though. A solid connection under dash or in the kick panel are fine.

With the clip of your test light connected to a clean peice of metal for ground touch the C917 spade with the key in the run position. Does the test light turn on?

I will check tomorrow after work. But why did the battery drain? I didn't even have the thing fully wired up, so even if there was a fluke and the fuse box was getting power it wouldn't have affected it.
