Default 99 crv build

Hi honda-tech i bought a crv a few months ago and started doing some mods. Not much yet but i plan on doing a turbo build in the future like many other crv owners lol. Its kinda hard when im on a student budget being that im still in highschool. But anyhow, its a 99 5 speed and i bought it with about 172k miles. Im now about to approach 180k. What i have done to it so far is painted the plastic moldings black since they looked pretty bad when i got it and were really faded. I also then decided to tint my tail lights and they came out pretty good. Then the other day i just put on some function and form type 1 coilovers for an accord. The only engine mod i have done was added a short ram intake. nothing major. oh yeah I also decided to take off the crv rail things that it came with because I didnt like them. I thought about putting them back on to see how they look now that its lowered and maybe painting the chrome black. We will see. Let me know what you guys think

Nice start. Those tires look way to big for a stock tire. You rub most likely right?

You can see what a lowered CRV looks like with the side bars on it in my build thread page.

There will be a sticker on the door with will tell you the size. which should be 205/70R15 those look like they are a 75 series tire, not 70, just if they are 70's they are wider then a 205.

It rubs at the back because the tires are to tall most likely.

so im new with coilovers and things and i have some questions. i am on function and form type 1s. is there anyway i can get the front down lower, i have the coilovers turned down the whole way. what does messing with the preload change? does that change how they ride and does it change the height at all? thanks

it can make it bouncier if you mess with the preload a lot. depends how stiff the springs are too begin with. but it will make it lower. one thing I have done like with my 350z I take out a collar, if its the 3 collar type, and just lock the remaining 2 while having it down all the way. so I could that can get you a tiny bit lower, but it does involve taking everything off the car haha.

Nice job.

When loading the pictures on her from photobucket, you need to use the IMG code on forums so it displays the picture on the forum and not as a links.

To the right of your pictures on your Photobucket page there is a section that says:
Links to share this photo
Email & IM
Direct HTML
IMG

Click on the adress right next to the IMG and it should automatically copy it for you, and thats what you need to post to display your pictures

Ok so I'm in desperate need of an exhaust. I need some opinions and advice. I know there isn't really any exhaust systems for crvs other than obx and I don't know about that. Which is why I'm asking. I also don't have the skill or tools to make my own. Hope someone can help me out. Thanks
