hello honda community, im new here, just got a 91 crx, n since the car has been sitting for a long time i'm trying to restore it, i checked compression n it is at 120psi, put a new battery in, n starter is good, from the cabin the ignition wont crank the engine over, so i manually did it with the starter n it cranks over but wont start, i check for spark, n find out the distributor was bad, so i basically rebuild it, new rotor, cap, ignition module, and cleaned it really good, n still havent got spark, is the distributor bad still? or have i got another problem?

 

you could still have a bad distributor. what motor in the car? there are sensor inside of the distributor too that tell the ignitor to spark, i would start with a new/known good distributor and new wires/plugs and if its not that id say wiring problem.

start with the basics does the check engine light come on and off when open the ignition ?
