Somebody else had this problem and this was a recommendation

jack up the car, remove drivers side front tire, remove splash guard, reach over with a screw driver and press the release. It's the definition of a pain, but can be done with some patience. The good news is a cable should be less than $20 from a dealership, you could have any mechanic handle this for you, they'd likely charge an hours labour.

i tried to get it underneath the dash already and the cable started coming un twisted and breaking thats why im asking about other option and unfortunatley i was unable to look at it today for a long time and i have to get a low profile jack in order to get the car lifted to get underneath so it will be a couple days before i can really try is the cable going to be on the front side or back side of the radiator? and for the time being before i get a new cable what should i use to keep it easy to get to in order to pull it? should i tie it to something and just make it exit from the grill or what?

you dont need a jack to take the fender off. removing the fender will expose the cord...now if pullling it from there doesnt open it you wont be able to.change the cord....cause to remove the bumper you have to remove the top screws. the cable is nowhere near the radiator, your radiator is in your engine bay, the cable isnt.

I left mine near the grill so I could pull it until my cable came.
