Icon2 Valvetrain/Cam/Compression - QUESTIONS

First off, hello. Thanks for viewing my thread/topic.
I have done research found answers and am looking for answers of experience.

I can read all day long and have all the knowledge in the world but without trial and error(experience) it means nothing. Which is where you come in.

LS-Vtec is the goal.

I have:
-complete B16A block
-complete B18A1 block
-stock B16A head
-B16A head with BC Valves, Dual Valve Springs and Titanium Retainers with a minor port job and a 3 way valve job.(needs surfaced)

Obvious choice use the BC Valve-train head. Question - Which Cams? -I have heard, and makes sense, that I need to determine compression before picking cams. true?

Using the stock B18A block, Honed and Decked standard 81mm I was thinking stock PR4 Rods with ARP rod bolts and ACL or Honda bearings(stock pr4 crank). Pistons - Nippon PR3 teflon skirt with floating wrist pin - "they" say they will yield a 10.8:1-12.0:1 compression ratio. SCR? Will these work and with compression like that and the BC valve-train, what is the best CAM option? Also, I have read that there may be valve clearance issues using pr3 pistons, true/false?

I am sure I have other questions regarding this build and I am sure you guys have some answers and input.

I'll save the other b16 stock head and b16a block for another topic, possibly in the boost category.

You need to look at intake manifold/TB + header and exhaust choice as well car weight and gearing and what are you going to use the car for also what fuel what injectors and tuning platform are you going to use?

If you have to ask this question, you don't have enough confidence to know what best for you. You can consult the "audience" here and figure out what is popular.

I would consult with someone who has built an LSVTEC with the results you desire.

Members here can help point you to some people that have built good LSVTECs.

-intake manifold stock b16 or possibly s2 with a 68mm portmatch TB.
-have not got a manifold in mind yet.. suggestions?
-I have 2.5" exhaust with a OBX 16" resonator and a obx twin loop muffler (all 2.5")(looking for new muffler due to annoying rattle in muffler from manufacture defect)
-car weight is stock + major suspension upgrades
-due to budget, currently looking for gsr or b16 trans.(would love a s4c! or ITR S80)
-car is going to be DD and light to light - 1/4 runs sometimes(power now not later)(also why GSR trans was option due to 4th and 5th cruiser gears and basically b16 123.
-was looking at some 310cc RC probably going to do some research on grams also. (think 310 is enough?)
-93 octane
-chrome chip and dyno tune is what the plan was..

hope this helps..

Thank you.

I have a few friends that have them built. I was just looking for a more broad, "audience" approved answers.

The RC Injectors are very low tech these days I would run

RDX 410cc
Grams550cc
ID725cc

In that order is what I would choose

how are the rdx better than the grams? and will the rdx410 fit a skunk2 fuel rail?

edit: sorry, answered my own question, you can get k-tuned hats so that the rdx410 will fit B series. I like the cost and effectivness of this FI. Thanks!!
