Default Using my S300, few noob questions

I have an S300 system on a car that I just bought, and would like to know a few basic things before getting started (i've had earlier Hondata systems but never connected via laptop)

I have installed the latest Hondata software on my laptop which meets all of the necessary requirements.

1. when connecting for the first time, do I need to actually import the file from the S300 before I can view settings or datalog? Or can I simply connect and view the existing map in the car without any type of import process?

2. how do the interchangeable maps work? I have a pump and race tune, but I think the only tune in the computer now is the pump tune.

Thanks!
Chris

You must load the calibration in the software in order to make any changes or upload it to the ECU. If you do nto have a calibration already, go to File, New.

Details on secondary tables can be found at http://www.hondata.com/help/smanager...tsub=secondary

I connected successfully tonight and imported the calibration file. I was able to find around 20 datalogs already logged. Poking around I found the computer is setup to log based on a set of parameters which is good.

Are datalogs associated with the calibration file or can they be accessed without downloading the calibration every time I connect?

Also, If i wanted to make changes such as 2 step, how do I properly write or save those changes back to the ECU? I've read the documentation but still seem a little unsure the best practice for writing/saving changes. There seems to be a "real time update" option, but does that mean you first have to download the cal file every time you connect and make changes? Or by simply being connected to the computer through S300, does that allow "real time" changes?

thanks for the help so far!
