Default crx obd0 b16 dizzy issues

Got a jdm b16a 1st gen in a crx. It is so hard to find a brand new obd0 b16a dizzy. That being said, I used a crx si dizzy, and it actually works. The only problem is the timing on the dizzy is set for a sohc I guess. I get bad misfires on start up until it warms up its good. Also it has to be all the way advanced to prevent worse misfiring on start up. I bought a brand new knock off ebay dizzy made by aftermarket ebay manufactures and it worked great as the original dizzy did but only for a year and the warranty ran out.

So I was planning to use a integra ls dizzy but I don't want anymore misfires on cold start up. Unless proven wrong. Yes I did use a timing light, and also used a paperclip to put the ecu in limp mode or whatever before starting the car. If the integra dizzy works better let me know.

Otherwise sorry for asking but its an "also", anyone have a b16a obd0 dizzy that is in good conditionand will last more than a year obviously when I buy a new cap and rotor for it, or any recommendations on finding a aftermarket b16 dizzy that is as good in quality as the oem if not better?

Any help gladly appreciated

have you tried ebay?

also in my emergency state, i used a crx si distributor as well. ran great even when first start up. i cut off one leg to have my timing closer in range where it needed to be.

Strange, well this is my second crx si dizzy from oreilly's and the symptoms never changed. I did cut off the leg to clear the vtec solenoid. Right now it is all the way advanced towards the firewall. I tried sanding down the area where the bolt sits in to see if it advances more but to no avail. If I retard the timing, or move the distributor towards the radiator, the car sputters and runs like crud. The thing I did notice, is that the lines on the crank pulley and timing cover for 16btdc or whatever is off by an inch or so fully advanced, just need a little bit more and its good to go which i said earlier to no avail.

The strange part is when I put a mimic oem distributor it runs fine, but it also has to be set fully advanced to even near the timing marks. But at least no sputters or misfires during cold or warm.

I even took it to a ASE certified mechanic, and he was trippin' out. He thinks I may have the wrong pulley, but I dunno.

I can buy another ebay one, I just don't want to buy a ebay dizzy every year. Although they're cheaper, it's still a hassle

O'reilly actually carries a new one for $308. You want a TD22. The ebay one I bought went bad but it was just the ignition coil...got a new one and was good to go. You could always convert to OBD1 and then you can buy Del Sol or GSR distributors anywhere. If you want to be cheap, a B18 integra distributor can be timed correctly but you will need to cut off at least one mounting leg.

Thanks for the info. Decided I'll be going with the duralast one as it has a lifetime warranty with autozone. I didn't think they'd make the distributor in usa, since the engine itself didn't get here until the del sol. Crazyy stuff

Well I'm running the pr3 ecu that came with the engine. I don't have the original crx si ecu. It's cool though, gonna get the dizzy from autozone. I'm sure they know how to replica a dizzy if ebay manufactures can.
