Honda civic 96 CEL 16 and D4 indicator light code 15
My car ran low and ATF and started shifting hard. I did the ATF replacement and everything was fine for a day. All of a sudden the gear won't shift from 1 to 2 in the D4 position. The engine check light came on and when i decided to pull the codes, the engine check light flashed 16 times (fuel injector circuit) and the D4 indicator light flashed 15 times (mainshaft speed sensor).
I haven't done the troubleshooting yet (checking for voltage and all) but my question is, what is the worst that can happen? If the sensor is bad does this type of problem just go away by changing it (sensor) or could it really be an internal mechanical transmission problem? If it is, any idea what it could be? Does it usually mean the transmission is toast? Would you advice trying to fix it of just get a replacement transmission?
Not too bothered about the fuel injector error or should I be?
Thanks in advance.

Shift solenoid, lock out clutch, or linear solenoid...i ran into this issue many moons ago, but in my case, it was neither. It got unplugged somehow. Good luck
