I'm doing a 94 and 02 accord coupe project at the same time and I learn quick but am a newbie at the car mechanics some one told me to put a k24 short block on the 02 idk what that means and I was told by the same friend I sahiuld look into a h22a for the 84 what's that mean and how can i do all of this? If anyone had any better ideas or suggestions I'm a 05 year old in a kindergarten class I'm open to ALL knowledge relates to this topic or not so suggest at will but keep in mind ill b asking for elaboration... Lol thank you kindly

Well if you are a 05 year old. I think you should have your daddy take care of this for you. I highly doubt that you have the cash or the skills.
H22 swap into a 94 is a very common and very well documented swap. Check out the Accord FAQ, look under the swap section. Being spoon feed is no way to learn anything!

It's cool buddy ur right so what exactly is the point of these forums I thought it WAS to ask questions... I'm not being sarcastic its a serious question I am nu to the forum thing.... But anyways I'm just a welder I Tig mig n stick **** ill even oxyfuel if I must... But hey did u see what I did far as the 02 goes? I did the short shifter and I posted it up I have to post all the pictures I have but haven't had time.... Just bought a civic coupe and ANOTHER accord coupe 02 just with no engine talked sum guy into giving it to me if I weld his engine that he cracked for his f150 so now I have ALOT of spare parts in the garage :-)

The F22 and H22 are of the same family, the biggest difference is due to the F series being a SOHC head and the H series being a DOHC head. First thing needed when doing the H22 swap into a F22 car are the engine mount and PS bracket as these are affected by the head type(SOHC vs DOHC). This is documented in the FAQ along with all the other idiosyncrasies of said swap, from wiring to exhaust.
K series is a bit trickier as this is a different engine family, and rotates opposite of the F/H engines. F/H engines rotate counter-clockwise, and K series rotate clockwise. F/H engines are located on the Left side of the car, where the K series is located on the Right side of the car.

I thought about turbo but my engine is cast pistons and I want it to be reliable, turbo sounds like too much work and money. I would like to know if the H22 is similar to having a turbo and is worth it over a stockish F22? H22 swap sounds like a really fun project.

An H22 is more expensive to build and feels absolutely nothing like a turbo. H's are also 10x more popular making the prices of parts higher than those of the F22's. You really need to drive (or, actually not) a boosted car, you obviously have no idea what it really feels like which is why you compare it to things all the time.

Not that you really need to build an H22 but bolt on's will work very well and if you want more kick get an ECU tune. For the low PSI you are running on your turbo a healthy H22 would do the same and even more... Plus reliable power.

An N/A H22A with bolt-ons will never touch a boosted F22. What trim are you running for your low PSI turbo build? You could be pushing anywhere from 250-350whp. Nothing unreliable about a properly built boosted F22. I love N/A but dollar/hp, boost wins and it is just as reliable and more than likely more economical.

Either way what do you think? It has all the parts there and looks like a great deal,

Busted engines are only worth their money as a core. Don't care if it was a blown hayabusa time attack world title butt hole hurter, broken parts are broken parts.

But you're speaking of cheap deals, $300 for a damaged engine is not a cheap deal. Its a decent deal I suppose.
Yeah scrap value but how much is that? You could easily get $100 for the IM, $200 for the Head, $100 for the block, so that's already $400 right there.

You will absolutely not get $400 in scrap aluminum. I work at a body shop, and we scrap/junk aluminum and steel CONSTANTLY from totaled cars. Unless Alum and steel are doing damn good in your area.

Yeah $400 is about right for selling the parts for use, maybe even more.

H22's are Honda gold and their parts are worth a lot to people.
Burnt out parts from a broken engine aren't worth shyte, H22 or not!
The only way you would get any money for parts out of that engine. Would be if you lied and didn't tell people that the parts came out of an oil starved, non running engine! Lying is not a good way to do business or live life!

Like I did with my F22A6, the block had a rod thrown right through the side of it. Guy said come take it! So I went and looked it over, the head was like new. So I took the complete engine that night free of charge!
All I was looking for was the head anyway. After tear down and inspection found it to be in great shape. No signs of any abnormal wear. The block has since been retired to the scrap yard.

Dang I guess you're right. On ebay though you can sell engine parts for much more than craigslist, even if they are damaged. Depends on what it is, like an F22B DOHC cylinder head is going to sell for a very high price simply because it is a rarity. The H22 cylinder head would be no different, they're in high demand. Ebay is good because it gets such a broad range of viewers who are willing to pay a lot for parts.

Ok so this thread took a left turn but its cool idk the forum IS for socializing so POST AWAY... Buton a good note the accord with no engine turned into a accord with a j series v6 so I been slowly taken that apart for parts for the other accord and, I'm 90% sure ima,put that into the civic... ;-) Lifes good....
