Pulled out my Spoon Magnetic Oil Plug and.............................
This is what I found. My car has been sitting for 3 weeks after going on a canyon run and hearing, what sounded like, rod knock. I stopped the car and got it towed back to the shop after I started hearing the noise. 3 weeks later (today), I pull the oil plug to drain the oil in preparation for the arrival of a Spoon Sports B18C Spec-R Bock Assembly, and this is what I found. What suprises me more then the metal on the magnet, is the color of the oil. I reguarly change my oil with Redline 5W-30. Maybe it is from sitting for 3 weeks. Anyways, enjoy the pictures and I hope that no one elses magnetic plugs ever come out looking like that.
About 30,000 miles ago, I had Spoon JDM ITR Pistons put in my block by a guy at an Acura dealership, and I just found out that he did not use NEW rod bolts. ARG! Oh well, I learned my lesson. Now that I work at a tuning shop, things will go together right.
to getting your car towed back when you heard a noise like that. That's a hideous picture...
It's bad enough, but at least we don't get a picture of one of your rods wraped around itself...

Why is the mechanic even employed there? Sorry for your loss dude. Oh well, at least you'll have a block for your hatchy now. Didn't you buy an EG or EF?

I will have an entire B18C5 to rebuild when the new motor goes in. I am going to put it in an EK and build a CTR replica. Probably a good winter project.
Guess I should'nt have poured sand in your oil as revenge for making me date that god awful friend of your wifes.

I am really hoping that all those metal particles are from the piston rings and that I don't have a damaged crank. If so, it will be time to get the JUN 2.0 Stroker Kit for the rebuild. Does anyone else here have experiences with the fully assembeled Spoon Sports B18C Spec-R Block in an ITR with cams? ITR1236 has it with the ame JUN head setup I have and it revs like a S.O.B!
