idle speed

Icon2 idle speed

My 1998 civic has been standing for about a year , now when it comes up to temperature the idle speed varies from about 1,000 to 2,000 rpm any ideas please

Is it pulsing (gradual increase, sudden drop), or hunting (gradual increase and decrease)? Is the CEL on?

Remove, clean, and re-install your IACV, and check for vacuum leaks.

Yep, clean IACV check all the lines that run from the engine to IACV. Also check the throttle body gasket for leaks. Thats where mine was when I had this problem.
