What can i do to make my D13A1 Faster
So My Name is jacob, i have a 1987 Civic With the D13A1, and i find its gutless, i dont wanna change the engin in it cause i want all the Vin And Serial Numbers to stay matching, but i wanna give it a littel kick, What can i do, Ive tuned the Throotel cable, Cleanded My Carb But What else could i do, and i may be Swaping out for the D15 With A Small Turbo Is It Worth It Yes Or No, My Car Has 92,000Km on it almost like NEW! Now those answers are not necessarily correct. Terminal velocity is about 120mph so if you pushed it off a cliff, it wouod go a lot faster.

Any engine can be improved to make more power. Simply put, get more air and fuel in the correct ratio into your cylinders, make it explode real good and then pump out the exhaust. Repeat... a lot.
Improve the intake side of the head, improve flow through the head and ensure that the bottom end can handle the stress. This basic engine building procedure.

Most people on here are going to say that that engine is a lost cause. Its a pretty crummy base to start from, it really would benefit you to jump to the 88+ D-series engines, a 1.5 or 1.6, go with the 1.6L. THere are lots of options for those engines.
