PH15 Carb Engine to EFi w/ VTech
Hello Sir,
Good Day!
I have a Honda PH15 Carb engine. I wanted to convert it from Carb to EFi don't have budget for change engine so I just bought those items below no VTech yet:
PH16 Block
P27 Programmable Computer Box
PH16 Intake Manifold assembly COMPLETE (intake, throttle, sensors, fuel rail, injectors)
PH16 OBD1 engine harness
PH16 OBD1 Distributor with high tension wires
My question are, what are other components I need if ever I decided to go with VTech? Do I need to change an ECU from P27 to P08 or just re-program P27 to add VTech in it. Plus do I need to change also the distributor or no need. Is there any other components I need in order to go with VTech? Those are my basic questions.
Thanks in advance.

If you got the PH16 block, intake manifold, and distributor, why didn't you just get the head?
Anyway, you don't need the block, but you can use it if you want. The intake manifold will bolt right on, the wire harness is not a plug and play affair, you'll need to wire it up from the engine to the ECU. You can't use the P27 for VTEC and you can't use the PH15 head for VTEC because it's a completely different kind of head.

I am aware of the Phillipines Carb'd engines, just do not know much about them. Is the engine stamp PH15? Are they just a rebranded D15?
@slomofo: Thanks Sir for the detailed response. I just bought those parts because it's affordable for in terms of price. I don't have enough money yet to buy d15b VTech engine. Probably in the future I need to save some money first. So for my next project I'm gonna need to buy d15b 20 lobes VTech head and P08 ECU. Is that correct Sir?
@doctorake: Yes sir Honda engines that are assembled in the Philippines are stamped with PH variant. e.g. PH15-XXXX, PH16-XXXX, PH12-XXXX for 92 - 98 models if I'm not mistaken.

@Slomofo: In addition to that also, PH16 non-vtech head was already sold and also I'm planning to have a VTech setup later so that's why I didn't get the head. I will just buy a d15b 20 lobes later when I have enough money.
Sir if you have any other tips for setting-up a mini-me like the one I'm planning please share it with us. Thanks again Sir in advance.

Include in your list the fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel lines from tank up to the fuel rail, associated harness and wires, main relay etc. You can get them from the 92-95 ESI models. They will not come cheap if ever you can find them.
If it was me, i'll sell the carbed civic and use the cash + the upgrade money to buy the EFI model or possibly the vtec model.
In my opinion, it's not worth the time and money to convert from carb to efi.

@axis11, thanks for the additional list Sir. I bought the items in much cheaper compared to buying a whole engine. An also I can't sell the car since it has a sentimental value for me and my family. That's why I decided to convert from carb to efi and do upgrade part by part.
