While driving ny car shuts off no warning but the lights and radio stay on. I do Hear whistling from a belt. It turns back on after 20 _30 seconds. Battery is good and no corrosion on terminals. I was think maybe the crank shaft since its where the timing belt is and I hear that noise or the distributor. One thing I do notice is the steering wheel shuts down. I mean I lose power steering.

 

After the engine stalls and you then try to restart, does the starter crank the engine but the engine won't restart? Or is there no cranking?

 

You might want to check the main relay. Had a buddy whos car shut off while driving and struggled to start. turned out it was the main Relay.

 

The engine cranks starts right up. I also did think the main relay cause the joints crack.
