2008 EVAP codes after AC repair
Ok, so this isn't for my Civic, but for a friend's. He owns a 2008 Civic, I believe that it's a LX, with an automatic transmission. He is automotive illiterate. Note that I haven't seen it since the incident at the shop yet so I don't have the codes yet.
The saga begins with an air conditioning system that wasn't working very often. I could hear a leak when he could get it to work coming from the front of the car. He took it to a shop to get the AC working. They replaced the accumulator and the condenser, fill it up and all is good.
However once he picked it up he noticed that the engine light was on, it wasn't on before at all. He was told that they were a lot of EVAP codes (didn't give me any numbers to cross reference.) The shop guys were 'yeah, it was on the whole time' when I know that wasn't the case. He did say that they tried to clear the codes but they wouldn't go away.
My questions, is it possible that they knocked something loose near the compressor that would trigger any EVAP codes? I'm thinking that a bumped vacuum line or sensor is the culprit. Anything I should look for in a quick glance? Where exactly is the accumulator located on the 2008? I know where it is on my 95 LX.
I'm supposed to meet up with him later this week (I have a code reader,) any advance advice is greatly appreciated. I will update the thread with more info as I get it.
