Default Problems with my ep3. HELP!

Ok so my ep3 has been out of commission for a while now. The first time it stopped working on me was on the freeway and i couldnt switch gears. Even though i was pressing on the clutch it was very difficult to put it in any gear. Luckily i was near and exit and got off the freeway. While i was driving on the side streets it was still hard to put the car in gear but i managed to do so enough to make it to a safe parking spot in a neighborhood. Once i parked i turned off the car and tried to start it again but it still wouldnt let me put in any gear while the engine was running. After that i had to get it towed so i brought it to my mechanic. When i got it towed to the shop my mechanic did something and said he played with the clutch until it caught something. So after that it was drivable again so i brought it home and havent drove it. The only time i drove it was to show proof to the CHP office for proof of correction for a fix it ticket. At that time my car was drivable but still very difficult to switch gears although i managed to make it there and back home. I chose not to drive it anywhere cause i didnt want to mess it up more. Until i thought to myself maybe it was my transmission and clutch fluid that needed to be flushed cause the car is at 90k miles now so i bring it to my mechanic to do so but when he brought it back the symptoms of the car was now that i need to start the car in gear every single time in order to move it from gear to gear. Can someone please let me know what these symptoms match which problems. I keep getting different opinions whether is may be the clutch or tranny or maybe even just the syncros. Thanks for reading!

It sounds like your mechanic is an idiot. I'm 99% sure that you just need a new clutch

Unless you have some serious mods why are you putting a stage two clutch in? Why not just put an OEM replacement? Just seems silly if you ask me.
