Y8 head mini swap
What's up guys did my mini me swap just wanted to get some pointers on good fuel injectors and manifolds. I have the stock one from the y8 it's much bigger then the d15b8 obviously also I was thinking about putting a bigger cam and was wondering what a good cam and size would be to run with that
I'm just going to summarize what you'll be hearing.
Tuning gets you the deserved potential out of a setup. Without a tune, you waste $100's+ on parts that do very unnoticeable gains.
Based on collective results, dyno tests and first hand experience you'll be searching for the same result almost everywhere you look.
An all motor D-series isn't the most $$:power ratio; especially with minor mods on a stock block.
Getting close to 200hp, or hitting 13 seconds on a mostly stock engine will be a pipe dream.
The recommendation will almost always lead to forced induction, or motor swap.
Of the D-series intake manifolds, a Y8 is proven to be the best, tested against the z6. These two are the most commonly swapped intake manifolds for D-series builds.
Without a tune or an ECU intended for certain injectors, your car won't be running right.
Here's D-series naturally aspirated section for more ideas/data.
