D16A9 Swap Axle question
Hey everyone, I've searched on this site and other places on the internet, and I can't seem to find answers to the question i'm looking for. It should be relatively easy for someone who's experienced with this though:
I have an OBD1 D16A9 engine with an S20 Trans (B000 - possibly w/ LSD, haven't checked for diff pin lately so I don't remember if true). Originally was going to throw it into a CRX, but i've recently dropped it into a '95 hatch for now. Problem i'm coming across is in regards to the axle lengths/diameters. It's currently got the intermediate shaft on the LH side, and accepts 27-spline DA integra shafts but they're not long enough (about an inch short). From what i've dug up, 95 civic axles have a 25-spline inboard, and 26-spline outboard count @ 24-1/2", and the DA Integra axles are a 27-inboard, 26-outboard but at 23-1/2" long...
What axles should I be using?
Or am I going to have to chop these up and use parts from both?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure it's an easy answer for someone who's been down this road already. Thanks

I see that nobody answered your question.
But tell me what did you end up with, cos this is my problem as well.
Thanks.

Believe it or not O' Reilly's sells the axles that you need that will work on your hatch and you get them according to the spline count inbound/outboard I did this a while back and they fit well in my eg civic. Did not have to use the intermediate shaft.
Too bad all the links are in my old computer. But the information did come from "ZC Resource" in one of the their forums. You might want to try there

The correct driver's side axle (if it's a hydro ZC intermediate shaft) is a JDM '92 Si 20th anniversary edition. Good luck finding one. You can also swap the spider gears in the diff for ones from a USDM trans CX/DX/EX, doesn't matter.
I also seem to recall something about '88 - '91 Wagovan axles.
