95 del sol si idle issue
Alrighty guys well here is my issue. This one has me at a loss. From the start i was having issues where while cruising or from a dead stop i would suddenly start to lose power so id hit the accelerator then it would act fine and then come right back. so i ended up replacing ignition coil and fuel pump with filter.. problem persisted if not slightly worse. okay so maybe its the tps...unfortunately the previous owner was a terrible mechanic and damaged quite a few of the bolts so i had to get a new throttle body...cool ill get my hands on a skunk2...got it on got the new tps on made sure everything was nice and tight no leaks anywhere ...good...started it up revving at 4500.....adjust throttle spring. 3k rpms...okay gettign somewhere...checked idle screw.....alll the way in....hmmm looked it up...IAC seemed to be a probable issue...just put it on today....i have the adjustment screw practically falling out and the darn thing is still idling at 1900-2000 rpms.. i am at a complete loss. I have also replaced fuel pressure regulator before the IAC. I attempted to adjust timing on distributor...no avail. is their some trick to this that i am completely over seeing? could this be a MAP sensor issue? at this point im about to take it to a shop but i really dont want to spend a grand on something small and simple. Please help i use this car for work as well as pleasure and i really need to know i can rely on this awesome gas saver.
oh i also replaced fuel pump relay...
If any of this sounds newbish forgive me as i am still kind of new to doing certain aftermarket upgrades. if it is the throttle body thats causing the issue it will suck but ill just oem replace it if i can. id much rather keep the 70mm skunk2 tho.
For the time being i have put the old TB back on and adjusted everything accordingly. runs like a champ without the bogging but i would still like some answers to the high idle with the skunk2. Ive been trying to look around on the forums and elsewhere to see if i could find anything but so far no luck. Thanks ahead of time for any answers.

i have since found some articles related to the skunk2 TB. it does not seem the issues regarding high idle with these TB's has been resolved so if anyone could please help me. give me a clue anything that could help me with the issue.
So the old tb was damaged but when you put it back on it worked like champ? So why did it need replaced to begin with? The skunk 2 is obviously letting to much air in somehow. Is the plate closed all the way when it was bolted up? Did you compare the side that mates to the intake manifold with that of your old one to make sure it was the same? Also what engine do you have and is there a part number on the skunk?
i thought the old tb was damaged but found out i was wrong. it was the type of screw they used to mount the TPS. The motor is a d16z6, the TB is 309-05-1050. As far as replacing as i said i thought it was damaged but was not, but im looking to mod the car for more power like many peeps ive seen on here. throttle flap screw was adjusted to be right touching the interior of the TB. idle screw was all the way in and i also had the adjustment screw of the IAC practically falling out, with that i was able to touch 1.9k rpms.
yes the gasket came with the TB, and yes agreed. probably why i will set it aside for the time being. I did feel a noticeable difference in the cars response using it. Unfortunately i did not with the tps which is one mistake but i attempted to adjust it while it was running and i never noticed any change in idle speed.

That is a pretty big TB (to run without a bunch of other mods and a tune).
Future power upgrades are as follows. intake Manifold, stage 2 cams, pistons and crank and aem ECU with 550cc injectors. and of course with that fuel rail pressure regulator and higher flow pump.
I guess the only thing to do is to try and see if i cant find where the leak is. maybe ill get some ether or something and give a try next weekend. Thanks so far with current suggestions.
